In 1970, a "tree" was planted in Utica, Mississsippi.
For over 40 years, the fruit of that tree has nourished thousands of lives; the shade of that tree has provided a comfortable setting for people to gather; and the very presence of that tree continues to transform Jewish life in the Deep South.
