Unit Head - Chalutzim

Responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning and high quality of the experience of our Chalutzim campers and staff during their 6 week camp program.
Qualifications:
- A college undergraduate or graduate.
- Prior camping or professional experience with teenage populations is preffered.
- Desire and ability to work with children and adults in Camp setting.
- Ability to creatively plan & schedule programs and activities, and to maximize the skills & talents of staff members.
- Ability to give & take constructive criticism.
- Must be self-starter and able to work without constant supervision.
- Must have leadership skills, ability to motivate, manage, and counsel.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate and feedback with camper parents at regular intervals during the summer via phone or email.
- Supervise, give direction and feedback to, and evaluate staff in the unit.
- Be involved in behavior modification and discipline of campers when warranted.
- Directly responsible for planning, preparation, and implementation of all Chalutzim unit programs - morning, afternoon & evening; serve as the creative force for unit/department programs, assign staff members to program teams, and work closely with specialists planning programs for your unit/department.
- Directly responsible for the unit's Israel-themed educational program.
- Directly responsible for consistently having unit’s/department’s program supply requisitions turned in on time.
- Whenever possible, incorporate unit/department staff members in program planning and leadership.
- Make all site & supply arrangements.
- Coordinate activities of cabins in the unit: cabin activities, staff days off, etc.
